Lubuntu 13.10 with a non-pae kernel

Hi David,

You can run some really small linux distro just to test the computer and
to run some commands to get more knowledge. For example, try DSL (damn
small linux), puppy linux or tiny core linux or Ubuntu 12.04 mini.iso
(without any graphic desktop environment). See this link

The command line

cat /proc/cpuinfo

will print cpu specs, check the line starting with flags.

You should also consider RAM. If you let us know the amount of RAM,
for example with the command

free -m

we can tell you more details.
