Problems with Lubuntu asking for password on mounting or network configuration ?

It depends. "Normal" user on Ubuntu (the one which is created by the 
installer) is a member of the admin group, which is different from a 
user you can create after, outside the admin group. For this last case, 
I think installing the package doesn't change anything (well, it should 
...).
