It seems that Firefox (and Thunderbird) are now using a new set of controls, different from GTK ones. I tried to make GTK2 apps look like GTK3 ones, so (I hope) you won't see any differences between them, but with 3rd party apps it exist that risk.

I still remember when, a long time ago, Linux was a mix of wxWidgets, GTK1, GTK2, PythonGUI, and more libraries, all working at the same time.
