Few questions

Hi! Thank you for reply, glad to have people how will give advice anytime. Anyway I have Lubuntu and Windows on separate HDD. But it looks like that windows are a bit more respondable in opening files and especially browser. However my hunch is that this is because of HDD. HDD that is running Lubuntu has 22 bad sectors and it is old - like 10 years and more - don't know how to check RPM. The good news is that I removed chromium and put chrome. Chrome works better form me, tabs are opening quite fast, not like on chromium. It isn't choppy all the time - it is just faster, but it is a bit faster on Windows, but it is ok now. Maybe it has to do with LAN card, rooter, how knows? As for RAM, that is just fine, it is very low, just like they said it would be :-)

Hi and sorry for the late reply.
You most welcome!
Who told you we do know everything about Linux and Lubuntu? we are ALL learning here and supporting and/or helping each other in the process so don't ever worry about that, we are all here to help you :)
Could fix what exactly? you want both on the same HDD? or you want to keep each one on its own HDD? you can do this and you can keep them both on the same HDD but of course different partitions. I have more than 8 systems on ONE HDD with of course different partitions and everything is okay. Having separate HDD is not bad idea at all :)
I've leaned an amazing thing while skimming through Arch Website. "Unused RAM is wasted RAM".
Having that said, don't worry about how much memory a certain application is consuming as long as you have enough RAM. Even if you think you don't have enough RAM, Swap Partition is there for a reason :)
As for your CPU, if you notice that it's 100% for a long time then you may need to worry but if it is 100% for few seconds, that shouldn't be a problem :)
Freezing for a second or two could be because of many reasons. Are you talking about an installed system or you are using the LiveCD/LiveUSB? a second or two is not something you need to worry about. You need to worry when your system starts to crash, freezing up continuously, etc ... then you need to worry about that. After all, as long as we are here, you shouldn't be worry at all.
Thanks!
P.S.
Please make sure to hit "Reply to All" as long as you are using the mailing list so everyone can get the benefits of such discussion :)

Thank you for your reply :-) Listen, I don't know anything about linux and lubuntu, but if you need any help, just give me a call :-) Anyway, thank you for information, I will get on it :-) but before that, maybe a bit clarification. Before I format hdd (I did that with gparared when I install lubuntu and windows - they are on separate hdd) maybe we could fix it. I run Task manager and I notice that RAM memory is quite low - no on my yahoo mail is 255 MB of 1507. But cpu constantly goes wild. When I open a new tab it goes 100% and staying that for a second two. 100% is when i load update manager. Now I have in task manager two chromium browser. Don't know why is that. Now I am writhing this mail and when I wnat to go with my keyboard up, It freezes for a second, and then goes. What is that?

>Hi! I am new to linux/lubuntu. As you can probably guess, I don't know much about lubunut. Anyway - I would like some help. I don't know how to use lxshortcut; I would like to put some link folder(with icon) on desktop in order to have My Computer, trash, and home folder on desktop. How could I do this? Furthermore, can you help me to restore previous click-right button-options on desktop. I marked some check box on property options on desktop, and now I have something else when I click right button on desktop - On top, there is Terminal, then Web browser, then Desktop, then ObConf etc. And one more thing - where can I post my wishes on how would I like to lubunutu be. I don't understand why is still a bit heavy to let say customize your desktop, menu etc. I don't mind that lubunut still has terminal, but for us user, we don't need that - we need just great software.

I would like to post a picture, but don't know who printscreen works on lubunut.
