Financial Support for Lubuntu

Hello All,

First of all, I would personally suggest to not to have a "Donate" option.

The following are the problems that I can see forward in addition with
Julien's questions.

1) Can we separate Lubuntu derivative fron other Ubuntu derivatives? Are we
going to stand alone in this?

My thought is 'Not a good idea'.

2) (If we plan to get donations,) Will it be an easy task to allot money
for each open source projects?

We have a lots of applications being used in Lubuntu (Though, major parts
are LXDE, Kernel and deb. packages) like Libre office and other small
projects and from my view, all of them are important. (Thanks for the
wonderful poit Julien :) )

3) (If we plan to get donations,) Is there any assurity that we wont be
bringing up new open source projects into Lubuntu?

4) (If we plan to get donations,) Will the community accept it?

I can assure you that the answer will be, "Forward them to Ubuntu donate
page as we are already doing the same". (Thanks Julien, for the first point
and Jared, for the link :] )

5) (If we plan to get donations,) how are we going to get the money from?

Bringing back the lubuntu.net, as mentioned in the previous mails can be
considered.(Only after getting the confirmation from the community :) ).

I am a bit held up with office works and so I can't come up with more
questions. Will be catching back later :)

In addition to suggestions in the previous threads, I would suggest those
people to get involved in donating it to their LoCo and develop the whole
Ubuntu community and not just Lubuntu. Remember, we are here to develop the
community too :)

>From my view, In the future, LoCos are going to play an important role in
our Community and we should direct the people(who comes forward to
financially support our work) to the respective LoCos, so that they can see
the value of their donations through their own eyes and just not by the
documents.

Thanks and regards,
Mohi
