It's a new bug. Apparently the Qt framework doesn't make windows flash
in the taskbar. "Alert highlight/flash not functional for all
windows"
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxpanel/+bug/920727
So if my app written with Qt, tries to alert the user by flashing the
window and the taskbar, LXDE flashes the window but not the taskbar if
and only if my app is Qt.
Something else...Also apparently I've already made a mistake: I was
pulling from lxde.sourceforge.net. according to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/Developers
I should've pulled from git://anonscm.debian.org/collab-maint/lxpanel.git
