Ok, Ian, I have confirmed that the Calamares window is indeed outside of
the bounds of the visible display if the display is 1024x600. Obviously,
it would be worse if it was less. There's a screensize check which we
don't enforce (I'll change that for the next version) but the minimum
size is 800x520 so it wouldn't trigger that anyways. 

Which leaves me a little baffled. I need to do some more research on 
this. Could you file a bug against calamares so I can track this and 
otherwise keep everyone updated? Bonus points if you do it on bare
metal.
