I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Lubuntu is, at its core,
Ubuntu. They certainly both share the exact same kernel, which is the
sort of thing that would have an effect on whether or not a device would
work.

What is the ID of this device? `lsusb` should tell you, at least
assuming the device, port, and bus is all working correctly. Have you
reported a bug anywhere or seen any others?
