Hi Volker,

Interesting that

1. This bug affects an installation in VirtualBox too, in a machine with 
SSD.

What is

sudo parted -ls

telling us about the physical sector size

- of the SDD in the host and
- of the virtual disk?

2. This bug does not affect a 32-bit installation in VirtualBox in a 
machine without an SSD.
