Hi Walter et al.,

I have been given a 32-bit tower that I decided to use to test today's
release - a Dell Dimension 8400, Intel Pentium 4, 3GHz, 32-bit, 512MiB RAM,
74.5GiB hard drive, DVD RW optical drive, Ethernet connection, named
"Herschel", after the scientist Caroline Herschel.

This is the iso I installed.
ian at turing:~/isos/Yakkety-Yak/20161008$ md5sum yakkety-alternate-i386.iso
3ff465828f850cec7edf9522a5df9d8d  yakkety-alternate-i386.iso

Install completed with no errors.

Did a few additional tests of my own:-
* Attempted to use System Tools -> Software to install LibreOffice but
couldn't find a way to do that.

Reverted to using Synaptic Package Manager.
* Installed LibreOffice (configured system to use LO Writer and LO Calc as
default apps. LO Writer spelling checking works)
* Installed GIMP (still has "Layers Brushes" window too far to the right of
the screen)
* Installed gnome-games OK

Did some command line tests
* man mkdir (OK)
* ri 'String.*' (OK)
* echo "Hello World"; echo 'Hello Ian' OK
* Checked for keys important to programming or shell usage OK

* emacs still has the "File" etc icons missing from its window

I expect to be trying this iso on my Samsung NC10 32-bit NetBook tomorrow.
Some time, long ago, I was given some commands to export details of my
Samsung NC10 to https://gist.github.com/21b61903871ee685fc79 - does anyone
know what I should be doing to export the settings of this Dell tower in a
similar style?

BW,

Ian
