I would like to see DVD media phased out totally, and the funds used for
something that will help spread Ubuntu more quickly. (e.g. marketing
materials).

In my experience free CD's/DVD's no longer help drive Ubuntu adoption. I
have also received comments from my local community about their negative
environmental impact and I share those concerns.
