Does it work for me

There have been a great many excellent points in this thread and for
some odd reason I feel the need to interject my .02.
I believe that many people have the ability to support multiple
'causes' (distros if that be the case). I also believe that there is
room in our 'club' for purists (Free and only Free) and the pragmatic (I
want it to work; period).
For my part I am willing to do with out 'extra' bells and whistles, but
Free software that does not work I am not. The target for Free Software
developers should be to make excellent software not just 'Libre'
software.
Some of my categories...
Users -- people who use Libre software
Advocates -- people who advocate the use of Libre software
Zealots -- people who can not comprehend anything else but using Libre
software.
I think we all have to take great care not to become Zealots.
One of the essential Freedoms is allowing people to make a choice. Some
people will bargain away their 'Freedoms' (in regards to software) to
have it 'just work'. That is their choice. I think it is great when I
can show them that 'it just works' and its Libre software, but I know
not to challenge their choice on a 'moral choice' ground as it is
counter-productive.
It should also be focused on that we are all essentially on the same
team.
