It does not seem a problem to me. You can talk about many aspects more
or less related to Ubuntu.

Have you tried to start preparations for an event? This way, with a
goal, you could find more interested people among the ones in the
list.

Are you sure they are against you? So far, I did'nt read any really
bad thing against anyone, only lazy people. :-)
