Non-Javascript Countdown Images?

The same problem is in place for the images this cycle.  A California
team member is working on a similar solution.  It would be WONDERFUL
if a tiny little two line script could be hosted at ubuntu.com to
perform a similar function so that all LoCos could use the countdown
banners in their wiki pages.
