Role of locoteams in the opensource world

Hey everybody :)

Ubuntu-fr has slowly become one of the most active french speaking
opensource communities, if we look just at the number of visitors. But
at this time, ubuntu-fr (nearly) just deals with ubuntu problems.
Presentation of Ubuntu, documentation of Ubuntu, planet with only ubuntu
related posts...

Should we get more involved in things that are less related to Ubuntu,
like DRMs, laws putting opensource in danger, add opensource-related
(but not ubuntu-related) content? There are really, really good and
active opensource communities in frenchspeaking countries (i'll take as
example APRIL.org and FRAMASOFT.net) - to which extent should we work
with them? We've more visibility as them, and could be able to make
their actions more visible.

What about other locoteams? Do your locoteam get involved in projects
that aren't specifically ubuntu related?
