To make things clear: we *need* such a list, because our current list
has way too much traffic for 99% of our users, but they still want be
kept up-to-date on local activities.

Also, we don't see how you see the marketing team handle local
announcements in local languages they get from the locoteams and make
sure they reach the targeted local people?   ;-)
