Indeed. The last issue of the perhaps most notable computer magazine in
Germany c't features a series of articles about Ubuntu: "linux in a
nutshell", "first steps with Ubuntu", "enhance and configure your
system". In total about 10 pages. An excerpt can be found online:

There is even an Ubuntu DVD included.

But I haven't found the time to read it yet :)
