  As I understand you was trying to say that I have to try another xconfigs.

  I found something useful on:

          o VGA out does not function correctly on i810 and subsequent
Intel graphics solutions. the package "i810switch" provides some
output functionality, but with a massively degraded image quality.
"i855-crt" provides improved image quality, but does not support i915,
without use of a patch I wrote for the purpose here. To use the patch,
open a root terminal, and run:
                + apt-get build-dep i855-crt
                + apt-get source i855-crt
                + apt-get install fakeroot
                + cd i855-crt-0.4
                + patch -p0 < /path/to/patch.diff
                + dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -uc
                + dpkg -i ../i855-crt_0.4ubuntu1_i386.deb
            Subsequently, run "/usr/sbin/i855crt swcursor on
1024x768 at 70" as root.

But it still does not work properly on external screen :/

Any suggestions in this context? Olaf
