Hi everyone,

I was browsing the LaptopHardwareSupport page and noticed that someone
mentioned that Texas Inst. flash readers would only be supported after
some reverse engineering.

I went to their website and browsed the product pages, etc. and came
across this one which might be of interest:

http://focus.ti.com/paramsearch/docs/parametricsearch.tsp?&showAllResults=true&totalCount=39&showAllResultStatus=true&familyId=381&totalCount=39&showAdditionalParameters=no&lc=3000777&lc=3000775&lc=3000773&lc=3000776&lc=3000774&lc=2001086&lc=2000494&lc=2001130&compare=yes&download=yes&sort=yes&customize=yes&paramResults=yes&paramCriteria=yes&familyTree=yes&military=no&baSystem=yes&paramTable=yes&sortOption=&sortMode=&searchPaths=1000421&searchPaths=1000381&pageId=381&templateId=5&navigationId=0&paramTable=yes&military=no&ul=PCI1410A&ul=PCI1420&ul=PCI1510&ul=PCI1510R&ul=PCI1512&ul=PCI1520&ul=PCI1520-EP&ul=PCI1620&ul=PCI4410A&ul=PCI4510&#rt

(sorry for such a long link)

Anyway, I downloaded loads of PDF's peeking through some, it seems that
these may be enough to develop drivers for the flash readers, but I'm no
driver developer.

Check this one in particular to see if it fills the documentation gap:
http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/pci7421.html
http://www-s.ti.com/sc/ds/pci7421.pdf

Hope that this may help improving support for laptop hardware in Ubuntu.

Cheers,
Celso
