<p>but in you case you will have 18.10 19.04 19.10 and 20.04. I am not in production and work with 21.04 but I had to upgrade to 20.10 and 21.04 which is a pain !</p>

This is incorrect, the only upgrade path currently for 18.04 LTS is directly to 20.04 LTS.

This is the only sort of situation where you can 'skip' releases when upgrading.

In any case, 18.10 through 19.10 are EOL, so 18.04 can't be upgraded to these anyway.
