When I opened kmix I was able to go to settings>audio setup. In audio setup there is no audiohardware setup tab or tree. The only two tabs are "device preference" and "backend". Maybe that's where the problem is? These things can be very frustrating and confusing when they don't work, especially when pulseaudio is introduced into the mess. I guess it can't be the mike itself because it works in Windows. So I remain confused and frustrated.
