I use Skype with a Logitech 9000 usb web cam and under Multimedia
setting Phonon audio recording,<br>
Recording, I changed the audio recording preference from Internal
audio to QuickCam Pro 9000<br>
and Audio is working.<br>

Thanks Mark. I opened the kmix and am now starting to play with
various combinations of hardware and setting possibilities.
Meanwhile to no avail. The sound can be heard but no microphone.
Will continue to experiment and report but my feeling is that the
whole configuration is wrong. Maybe "pulseaudio server (local)"
which is the only option I have in skype for sound isn't correct.
I don't know.<br>

icon in the panel. If you click that icon you'll get a volume

question. I have a Gigabit GA K8NF motherboard
with everything OB except the monitor card which
is a NVidia.I have a AMD 3500 CPU and 2 giga ram.

have had a microphone/sound problem
with Kubuntu while trying to use Skype
since version Nattty. I thought that
by upgrading to Oneiric the problem
would be solved but that wasn't what
happened. I cannot use the microphone
in Skype. The loudspeakers work, i.e.
I hear but cannot speak to anyone, not
even does the test microphone work. On
the same computer my dual-booted
Windows 7 works flawlessly.<br>
