I used to have it working in 3.x but every new laptop I buy I go through the paces of trying get them going but to no avail yet. It seems that the KDE devs don't see any merit in Fingerprint reader & also see it as a security risk. The best we could do is see if the Kubuntu devs are willing to take this project on.
