Hello, friends.

I was trying to connect my phone with the laptop and found out that there is no icon in the tray for the bluetooth. Event after starting the KDEBluetooth4 from the launch panel, nothing really happens, no icon, nothing. Even if I search with the phone for bluetooth device it seems not active. The system monitor however has a process 'bluetoothd' active.

Any ideas?

Thanks

KDE's native bluetooth support is broken in Intrepid. Please check this bug report:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280997

Some people commenting on that bug case have reported success using Gnome's framework to use bluetooth.

The only suggestion I have is therefore to install the gnome tools for it.

OTOH I have to say that I didn't manage to get a stable connection to my phone in order to successfully finish a larger-than-usual download of pictures from it. The gnome tools hanged after a certain number of pictures. Though I don't know if the problem lies within gnome, or at bluez.
