It looks like the latest BIOS/UEFI for the ThinkPad X230 is 2.77 dated
October 2019.[1]

What is the date and version of the BIOS from dmidecode? It will look
something like this (from a Dell XPS 8930):

   $ sudo dmidecode
   ...
   BIOS Information
        Vendor: Dell Inc.
        Version: 1.1.31
        Release Date: 11/21/2023
   ...
