upgrading to 22.04 kills firefox

spent good part of yesterday doing a clean install.
get same results.
but watched the loading results closely
hung up at "waiting for autorestart of snapd"
it never did autorestart. said check path??
what path. don't even know where to look.
firefox is installed and loads with good expected screen BUT unable to
make connection with internet or server. although this computer using
different version of kubuntu has no trouble. would think the Kubuntu
team would have a second server installed (such as midori) or something so
linking to internet would be possible to get whatever is needed.
????? ready to throw hands up and reload 20.04 without long term support
but at least it works, can't even make a bug report.
