Can't boot to desktop after upgrade to 17.04

To me the log looks like you have an nvidia graphics card in your 
machine and the nvidia driver doesn't want to load correctly. Maybe the 
upgrade didn't properly install the nvidia driver. Therefore I would 
suggest to reinstall the nvidia driver (in recovery mode).

If that doesn't work, you could uninstall the nvidia driver and reboot. 
That should then start the nouveau driver and you should at least get a 
working desktop. Maybe you could also expeiment with the other versions 
of the nvidia driver, but I have no idea if that would help.
