Kubuntu installation - not compatible with older BIOS

i tried Kubuntu 17.04 installation but grub/boot sector is not compatible
with older BIOS it keep hanging...

- how dow kubuntu write grub/boot sector? 
- is there a way to use  grub/boot sector that works fo all PC's ?
