Question about boottime kubuntu 14.04 and 16.04

That point when the splash screen shows each step in sequence as they load. All light up at once and your looking at the desktop. While I agree that a SSD helps tremendously with boot times I found that
16.04 takes VERY long for the login process and that seems not depend on
the HD. Not sure what it is exactly, but something really takes its time.
