Trying to Upgarde but PC says I have little Space

I am just trying to download in a download file. as I said to Nils I 
have two root files (one on each  drive.
The one on the 75GB drive is empty when I go to the archives he 
mentioned. I would like to clean it up but do not know what I can safely 
delete.
