I haven't always used Linux. I started using Kubuntu someplace around
the middle of KDE3. Everything was roses and blue sky. Then KDE4 hit.
OK, I admit that KDE4 wasn't exactly ready for prime time but for
reasons upstream we got it. There was a great hue and cry across the
globe. Sack cloth and ashes abounded. By the next upgrade things were
working pretty good. A year later and all was well. Still many blamed
KDE4 for everything from tooth decay to eclipses. Many users left
Kubuntu. Some have returned but some still blame KDE4 for everything you
can imagine.
THEN, we got Plasma. Now this most recent upgrade. My first thought was,
"Oh Lord. Here we go again." So far it seems that I was right.
The only constant in the universe is change. Some people can accept
change and move on. Others, well, not so much. I sometimes think there
are some that would like for Linux in general to never have evolved from
the way Linus created it.
