The settings are in relatively the same places they always have been, and
accessed the same ways; this is not like the drastic KDE3 to KDE4 move.

This is quite debatable, actually, especially in recent months. Plasma 5 is
quite stable and even in early Kubuntu alpha and betas has gotten good press
and praise, It is the still-pre-release Ubuntu side of things, where things
like video drivers and the like can still poke people.

Your *software* will be compatible, some of the *plasma widgets*, yes, may not
be available (especially third-party ones), but that list is shrinking as we
get to plasma 5.3 soon.
