As R.P. Charbonneau wrote, sharing which partition /home is on and the
output from df -h should help us help you. Also, send /boot/grub/grub.cfg
from both your good and your bad Kubuntu to http://paste.ubuntu.com/ to
further help us help you.
Are you still using your Windows? If not, you could install fresh without,
disturbing anything else, to the space Windows now occupies, but this is
better tried only if you first tell us which partition or partitions contain
/home(s).
