Still VESA is used. Still it reports you have Nvidia version 311 but need
version 304.

The following lines in xorg.conf do not match your display specifications:

    HorizSync       28.0 - 33.0
    VertRefresh     43.0 - 72.0

Try changing them with a text editor thus:

    HorizSync       30.0 - 82.0
    VertRefresh     56.0 - 76.0

I don't expect it will help making Nvidia take over from VESA, but leaving it
like it is could be a problem even with Nvidia in use.
