systemd?

Is it possible to run systemd on kubuntu?

I tried to setup a trusty tar install under virtual box, and then install
systemd from a ppa, but I ran into some dependency issues.  It looks like
kubuntu already uses some components of systemd?

Basically I'm curious if I can start trying out systemd on Ubuntu, or do I
need to look into something else for now, like debian.
