CM108 USB Audio device stopped working

Hello everyone,
I'm running Kubuntu 14.04.1 and possess a CM108 USB audio device,
which was working fine until now. The audio device is detected
correctly and all applications do write output to that device(I
believe) but there is no sound received on the headset. I tried
plugging in the headset's audio out directly and it works perfectly.
Can someone help out in figuring why the USB audio has stopped
working? Thank you very much!
