Why does purging kmail remove akregator and korganizer?

On KDE application issues, ie bugs, crashes, feature request, reporting to KDE is 
best. Problems with packaging, hardware issues, and the like would go to Ubuntu's 
Launchpad (ie ubuntu-bug), so in the case of the OP, reporting it to Launchpad is the 
way to go.
