13.10 KMAIL Problem

If this is still an issue, a work-around is to open a terminal window
in the main directory where Kmail stores your messages and do a search
of the contents of the messages like this:

grep -r "MY SEARCH WORD OR PHRASE" *

This will search all files in the current directory and all its
subdirectories for  your search word or phrase. You can then view the
messages in a text editor.

Like I said, it's a work-around rather than a fix, but it's better
than nothing, and some of us prefer it since it's lightning fast,
fun, and doesn't involve figuring out sometimes clunky GUI interfaces.
