Well I _finally_ found out what the problem is, at least
for *my* machine. I've seen quite a number of others
having similar problems, and I'm sure from the discriptions
that many of them have the same cause.
There's something the microprocessors use for video that's
called, "sse". There are also extensions called, "sse2",
"sse3", and, "sse4". If you type:
"cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep flags <enter>"
You may see in the list, "sse sse2 sse3", and/or etc.
The latest versions of flash software use sse and sse2.
The problem? I have a Pentium 3. Processors under Pentium
4 _don't_have_ sse2 or further up.
Don't you just love commercial programmers who can't be
bothered to write for everyone, just those who have the
newest, latest, greatest machines?
