I would also check the power supply and its fan.  If the PS fan stops 
spinning, the box will heat up.  I've had to replace the PS fan on power 
supplies before, or simply replace the enitire PS.

Dusting the system out ic crucial periodically.  The dust collects on chips 
and acts as a blanket preventing hieat dispersal, thus damaging the chips 
eventually.
