Ati HD7800 and Ubuntu 12.10

Hello,

My uncle bought a hp laptop with a ati HD 7800 onboard videocard.
The problem is that there are only 3 resolutions for 16:9 screen with Ubuntu 12.10.
I installed the fglrx drivers and that didn't work at all, no screen.
Does anyone know to let the ati card work?
