I also use Synaptiks. It has the added advantage of automatically
disabling the touchpad when a mouse is connected. You can also check
your netbook documentation for a key combination that will disable the
touchpad entirely. I tend to use that if I'm doing a lot of typing
with no mouse usage, especially when I'm not connected to power, as I
rarely ever carry a mouse with me when I travel.
