Postgresql question

This may be a bit "off list" so apologies.

I run various flavours of kubuntu - my personal laptop is "stuck" on Kubuntu 9 
running quite happy and is also my developement env for  my gambas/postgresql 
8.4 app

I need to install the contrib package for 8.4 and apt-get dosn't find it. I 
wonder if its possible to just locate that package and download and install 
manually. Did a quick search on the net but havn't figured where to find it.

Thanks for any advice.
