Klipper does not work under Kubuntu 11.04 amd64, kde 4.6.2

I have been a longtime Debian user but recently got this PC with Kubuntu 
pre-installed, so I wanted to give it a try. I got most of it working as 
expected except one thing which really bothers me a lot: klipper does not 
work like it should: I have the klipper icon in the bottom bar of my 
screen but nothing selected comes in it, klipper just sits there doing 
nothing.
Does anyone here know how to fix this?
