Tips on installing Google Earth

I'm wondering why you have had problems.  I believe Kubuntu is a KDE 
distro.  I am using a KDE distro: PCLinuxOS,
and I just installed Google Earth from the repo with no problem at all.  
It works right off the bat.  Maybe there's
something defective in Kubuntu?
