     fixme messages aren't helpful.  A program can work fine even if it spews 
dozens of fixme messages.  In fact I just ran my Kindle install again.  It 
loaded, returned to the last book I was reading on this version, wanted to 
update my last read position, and I successfully exited.  Here's the console 
spew of that session, note the first message:

     So clearly that message isn't impacting the application's ability to run, 
nor are toeh other fixme messages.  What, specifically, is happening?
