Adding home folder/trash can to desktop + plea for simplicity

That is what I thought. It was available in KDE3 and I found it useful
to have different colours for the background of each desktop. Then I
could see at a glance which one was in use. Since KDE4 this seems to
have disappeared. I never understand why something that is working and
useful can be removed. I can understand why something new may not be
added because of the extra time and work needed. But here the work was
already done.
