No sound in browsers, other sound are fine

IF you have pavucontrol installed, fire up your browser in one window
and pavucontrol in another. While a video is actually playing, switch to
pavucontrol, and see what it shows under the "playback" tab and where it
is sending the sound. You should see a horizontal line acting like a
vu-meter, showing you that it is receiving the audio signal to process.

If you see no such signal level, then the audio source is not making the
trip. Make sure your apps are set to audio/device pulseaudio. Or, maybe
you have another mixer volume level set to zero or muted. Try aslamixer
on a command line. Wave a chicken foot? :) Ric
