If I was a newbie I could understand this mess... Alas...

They really screwed this one up...

I've powered up my Kubuntu 10.10 with Ubuntustudio metapackages
loaded, upgraded from a working set of kubuntu 10.04 + ubuntustudio
packages where my MAudio card would be recognised perfectly nicely...

Pulseaudio? Dummy. sudo su - , then check alsamixer? The MAudio card
is there for all its glory. Pulseaudio can't even detect the card,
pavucontrol's the configuration window is empty...

What a mess.. At least they could have attempted NOT TO BREAK IT!.

Probably everyone else has figured out how to remove this piece of
crap and get on with it...

I just had to cancel a recording evening because of this PoS and I'm
really not happy. I'm going to reinstall this machine with Kubuntu
10.04 + UbuntuStudio audio + video metapackages and bring it back to a
working state.
