Plus, if you keep good notes from the last release, it is not a major problem.  
And as you mentioned, you find out about new features.

And, going over the old config files is always a good refresher....

And,,,,,   if something appears broken, you know it is probably a new bug 
rather than some incompatibility with the upgrade.
